The WCEC is a crucial biennial event for Chinese entrepreneurs globally, with the aim of establishing an economic network linking Chinese entrepreneurs worldwide. It seeks to bring together worldwide business communities to foster economic relationships and network with overseas Chinese entrepreneurs.

To date, 16 WCECs have been successfully held. The 17th WCEC is scheduled to take place in Kuala Lumpur this year from September 9th to 12th, 2024, and will be hosted by the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM).
